Test Results

Results are in!

I got this last Friday. I have HIV level 1 and 2 Strains..I'm not
really sure what that means but it just confirms my sluttyness I guess..
I already knew the results before I got this so its no shocker for me..
This will be my new birth certificate..I Choose to live! For the better!
This certificate will serve not as the end but the beginning of something new...something great..I will become a better version of me...I will prove
to myself that My mom didn't made a mistake having me...I will prove to myself
that I can be anything I want to be! I plan to succeed in life! It is never too
late for me! This is not a curse that I have but a gift! A gift to see things
in a new perspective...This is only the start for me :-) Life, Here I come!

  1. hey E. i am happy that you have a very positive look on the way things are going on in your life right now. at the end of the day, what really matters is how we have lived our life. god bless you and always be strong.

  2. I think I'm right in saying that you have HIV 1 (but not 2). The Serodia screening kit may have come back with both, but it's the western blot that tests for the virus (screening for anti-bodies).

Snap - I got my 'certificate' on Wednesday. Probably like me, after a few weeks of waiting, even though expecting it, it was actually a kind of a relief by that time. Not so much an ending as a starting point.

I wish you the nest E. I wish us both the best.

  3. One more thing - my doc was telling me that HIV 1 is our 'local' strain. HIV 2 is commonly called the Africa strain, but there are a few cases here too.

To have both, would suggest more than one exposure ... Western Blot is pretty clear though - 1, but not 2!

  5. yeah, it's good that you have a positive outlook on this.

HIV-1 and HIV-2 refer to different strains of HIV.

Very nice blog. Thank you for your interesting posts.

  10. At this time when you are strongest, think of how to deal with the negatives when they ever come around. What coping mechamisms do you have? Familiarise yourself with the five stages of grief. You may or may not experience all stages but at least you are prepared for when it happens. It is like getting yourself armed for battle. The better prepared are more likely to win. How do you deal with the possibilities other than health eg. financial, emotional, spiritual? In the spirit of rebirth, hope you have many more returns of the day.

  13. Hi E. Long time.

They are similar yet different. I think it is the Strain 1 that weakens the body faster than Strain 2.

Here in HK, it does not really matter. It is more on counting your CD4 and your viral load. And making the most to keep your HIV at an all time low.

Good choice to hug the life than throw it. That's one thing I knew, and my doctor advised after, that is the best approach to addressing and resolving any disease.
